I have personally never used TripIt, but it certainly seems like a service worth looking into. With support for several major travel and leisure sites, all you need to do is forward your booking confirmation email to "plans@tripit.com" and the relevant information shows up in your consolidated travel diary hosted by TripIt (and, it seems, of course accesible through iCal so you can syndicate it to other calendar applications).
Very clever. Wonder how they agree with the various travel and leisure sites on formats of confirmations and such. If a confirmation template is changed, there is an obvious risk that their import functionality breaks...
