Ingredients (serves 2 or makes for next day lunch)
300 grams minced beef or pork meat
4-5 scrubbed potatoes, sliced
1/2 head of white cabbage, cut in strips
1 yellow onion, chopped
2-3 cloves of garlic, chopped
4-5 spring onions, chopped
1-2 tablespoons Chinese soy sauce
2 teaspoons Worcester sauce
olive oil
ginger powder (or fresh finely chopped ginger)
paprika powder
salt and pepper
Method
Fry the sliced potatoes in some oil, a few minutes on each side, sprinkle with paprika powder to taste (I use quite a lot, to get a bit of zing). Add in the chopped onions and garlic, keep frying until onions go soft and translucent and potatoes are golden. Set aside.
Fry the minced meat, season with salt, pepper and Worcester sauce to taste. When it is all nicely browned, add in the cabbage. Keep frying until the cabbage starts going a bit soft then add in the soy sauce. Sprinkle it with ginger powder to taste, I use about 2 teaspoons since I like the citrus fragrance it brings, but be a bit careful so it doesn't get owerpowering.
Stir around and let simmer for a minute or two, then add back the potato and onion mix and the chopped spring onion. Let it all cook together for a few minutes while stirring now and then.
Serve with some greens, for example raw chopped red bell pepper and nice crispy green broccoli.
