Bocca di Lupo, brioche sandwich and chocolate marzipan ball. See how W is ready to dive in, fork and knife ready for action? The poor sandwich never stood a chance.

Went to see Stomp (again, for me) with W today and after that we decided to do a really early evening visit to Bocca di Lupo, one of our many lovely customers, in order to sample their Italian delicacies. Turned out to be a good choice.
Now, from an LCHF perspective an Italian trattoria is probably the dumbest and most tempting place to go to. Of course I fell from grace, had to fall from grace, when reading through all the lovely items on the menu.
We sampled a number of dishes, all of them very good. What stood out though was the black risotto. Velvety, creamy, with a rich taste that went so well with my glass of red. A Nero d'Avola. Ok, maybe not 7.70 for a small glass good, but still, damn fine wine.
Another real treat was their lamb prosciutto. Never tried that before, the rich taste of lamb really came through and was a remarkably good match with a piece of strong pecorino cheese.
For dessert W, who certainly isn't afraid of the carb (hey, if you can do 59 pushups in a row after 4 sets of 16, why worry), had a "brioche sandwich" with gelato, pictured above. Me, being very aware of the fact that I already used up my daily carb allowance several times over, settled for a chocolate covered ball of marzipan with rum raisins. Lovely.
Decor wise the place is stunning, I really like it. Long marble bar with full view of a kitchen section where smaller dishes are prepared, big dining room towards the back of the restaurant with an amazing chandelier in the ceiling. A glass partition separates a double stair case leading down to a basement with more dining space and toilets with fun mirrors giving you some Italian parleur assistance.
Great service. Casual, answers to my questions, chatty and funny without being intrusive. Timely. Just the way I like it.
The damage was quite harsh. 73 pounds for 4 small plates of food, two glasses of wine, dessert and an espresso is not easy on the wallet. Worth every penny though. Will go again.

It was certainly worth every ounce of carb! I think my favourite was the lamb proscuitto followed very closely by the risotto.
