Today the breaking news is that Livebookings* has raised $16m / £9.5m in VC funding thanks to an investment into the company by Wellington Partners.
I normally don't blog about my work on here, but this is too exciting not to shout out from the rooftops.
The past two months we (I work for Livebookings as Head of Product Management) have been working hard courting investors for additional investment to fund the exciting plans we have laid for enhanced products and market expansion.
While I mostly saw the start and the end of that process, helping out with defining the business plan and resourcing and then sitting in on meetings in the due dilligence process explaining our product strategy and tools, it has been very intense for some in our team.
Fantastic work done, and through the due dilligence I have met with some amazing people. Among them Daniel Waterhouse from Wellington Partners. With a background from 3i and Yahoo! he has so much experience and insights to share and I must say it is an exciting feeling when you explain what you do and the person opposite you not only immediately gets it but also seems to get equally excited about it!
So here we go. Now we move from theorizing and planning to execution. There are new roles to fill and big projects to ramp up or embark afresh on. This is exciting but also unnerving. The best laid plans and all that...
With the amazing core team we have today though, I feel confident we will deliver.
